WHAT IS A SPELL?
To the average person, a spell is believed to be a work of evil, created and sent by a negative witch or sorcerer to harm another. However, in this document I will try to prove the fact that a spell can be good and holy, and that they have been used by righteous men and women throughout the ages, up to our present day. Further more, I will prove that belief in spells are not limited to superstition and ignorance, as is commonly believed, but is practiced by all people in a greater or lesser degree-even unbelievers.
DEFINITION OF A SPELL:
According to ancient mystical science, a spell is a formula of spoken or written words (or a combination of both), believed to have magical properties by virtue of its contents of strange or unknown languages, the secret names of God or angelic beings, and the effect they produced upon the practitioner and the obiect of the spell.
THE PURPOSE OF SPELLS:
Spells are used to banish unwanted conditions, and attract desired blessings such as personal power, love, money, good health, etc., to the practitioner, or others that he or she is helping. This of course is the purpose of good or positive spells. A negative person may learn certain secrets of life and attempt to cast a negative spell to harm another.
We do not teach this form of negative activity, as any use of this type of knowledge for egotisticle, selfish or malicious purposes will bring the negative practitioner to grips with the Universal Law of Karma which makes very sure that we reap what we sow-good or evil. Our purpose is to teach the positive applications of spells.
Thus we come to understand that the power of spells is either good of evil, it is the application of this power by the practitioner that makes it good or evil. We teach the positive application of this power for the purpose of attracting good things into our lives, and helping others.
Thus we have entitled this compendium Godspells.
WRITTEN SPELLS:
For thousands of years, people have believed in the power of written spells: there are a multitude of symbols, magical words and prayers that people of all ages have written and carried as charms for numerous purposes
SPOKEN SPELLS:
Any group of words of which it is believed have power when spoken in a certain manner, is a spoken spell I have a very surprising fact to share about this subject later in this chapter
SPELL ENHANCERS:
Different objects such as candles, incense, salt, water, oil, etc., may be used in the casting of a spell. These serve to awaken inner power from within the practitioner by the effective power of ritual.
WHY WRITTEN AND SPOKEN SPELLS WORK:
When people carry charms of symbols or words, it represents the secret wisdom that was given to humankind in the remote past. These strange symbols contain a higher language that stimulates the inner consciousness to achieve extraordinary things. The written word likewise empower us to reach out for greater things in renewed spirit of enthusiasm.
When we speak a group of words in the form of a ritualistic spell, we create a powerful vibration that permeates our entire nervous system, as well as inspires our emotional and mental being.
Spoken spells should be repeated with strong emotion and conviction.
Written spells should be prepared and treat ed with reverence.
SPELLS FROM AVERAGE PEOPLE:
People of all walks of life use spells, whether they realize or believe it or not.
For example, I have observed that when some people talk of undesirable things such as death, accidents, etc., they will sometimes use the term “God forbid” in their conversation.
This is, in reality, a spell to prevent the negative thing they are speaking about from actually happening.
Some people, when speaking of their good fortune, will say “knock on wood.” Again, this is a spoken spell to ward off any change of fortune in a negative way.
Show people have a common term they use, “break a leg.” I asked a performer why one of his friends said this to him. He said that it was a customary way of performers wishing good luck to other performers.
The idea was that if an entertainer got a good deal, other performers would overcome any envy they would feel for that person by verbalizing it in this term, rather than keep it inside, and thus be actually wishing success to the other-the opposite of the words which were spoken.
I have also observed that when some people compliment another, they say “God bless you” during the conversation.
This is a way of overcoming any envy they may feel towards the other person, and thus avoid giving that person the look of envy, commonly known as “the evil eye.”
SPELLS IN RELIGION:
All religions contain spoken and written spells in the form of prayers and blessed items.
The Rosary is an enhancer, by which a person concentrates and focuses attention on prayers which they repeat over and over again.
This repetition accompanied by concentrating one bead after another as in reality, a spell to awaken the inner consciousness to reach for God and higher inspiration.
Prayer beads and wheels are used in other forms in Eastern, and other religions, as well as in Christianity.
The various medals upon which are inscribed Latin Phrases and images of Holy characters are talismans, or written spells, designed to focus the believer’s attention on the Saint or Angel for the purpose of invoking the illustrious being to grant favors of protection, good fortune, healing, etc.
In Lord Jesus’ famous Sermon on the Mount, as recorded in St, Matthew’s Gospel, chapter 5, 6 and 7, he gives unmistakable formulas of words and actions for dealing with the problems of life. Also, when asked, “Lord, teach us to pray” he gave an actual spoken formula, embodied in “The Lord’s Prayer.”
This is the surprising fact that I promised to reveal about spoken spells-even though some misguided religious devotees condemn such practices as being all of the devil, they are in fact using this practice, ignorant of that fact because of the misinformation they receive from their leaders.
Many people find comfort each day by reading the Biblical book of Psalms, yet, little do they know that this is a book of magical sacred spells, that when used in a certain manner, can work seeming miracles.
