In my 9/10 regalia, I am moving to a neighborhood, to partake in the sacred rite and ritual of New Yam festival.
As the yams are counted (not like Eze Ulu in Achebe’s Arrow Of God), we will prosper;
Our farm will not wither;
Our children will excel and prosper in

As sickness did not ruin our harvest, our businesses will prosper in the next year;
As we did not steal from anybody’s farm land, the gods of the land, will not allow others to steal from us unpunished;

As we did not kill any brother to take his wife; our wives will grow t through old age with us;
