I hate to descend this low in the discussion over the ongoing counter genocide in Gaza and Israel.
But when people pick a part of the Bible to justice Israel’s atrocities and tag me, I am tempted to correct them.
Their ignorance needs to be reshaped.
Abraham, the patriarch of Israel, was never from the location called present day Israel but from Southern Iraq. Genesis Chapter 11:27-Chapter 12, made this clear. He was a native of Ur of the Chaldees.
The land of Canaan his god promised him, belonged to other tribes; Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.” (Exodus 3:7)
Abraham kept wandering with Lot in search of a less strong people to subdue and steal their land. He even went into Philistine, allowed Pharaoh to take his wife after he lied that Sarah was his Sister(who knows, the setup could have been for Sarah to murder Pharaoh and Abraham would have taken over Egypt.) Genesis 12:11-16
There was no land named Israel before Jacob wrestled with an angel. The crippled Jacob, a known conman, claimed his name had been changed to Israel; “a prince with god.”-Genesis 32:28-29.
His descendants then started expansion, murder, genocide, of other smaller tribes to create state of Israel after they left Egypt in search of a home land based on the promise their god made to Abraham.
Fast forward to David the Zionist.
Jerusalem belonged to the Jebusites (prior to the conquest initiated by Joshua (Joshua 11:3, Joshua 12:10) and completed by King David (2 Samuel 5:6–10) but land grabbing and lustful David, kept pressing and longing to make it the capital of his emerging state, Israel (2 Samuel 5:6-10)
The Bible is clear that Jews had no land but were wandering in search of a place.
The Kingdom of Israel that David built with force of spear and blood, were reverted to the owners by his lustful son, Solomon. Solomon contracted marriage with neighboring tribes, who were the original inhabitants of the lands David annexed.
Fast forward to Jesus. Romans took over the entire Middle East and Jews had no state but were leading insurrection against Roman Empire. Rome crushed them and they fled.
Roman Empire collapsed and the British became the new Masters of the World.
Relying on the Biblical promise to Abraham and not history, they sort to recreate Abrahamic Israel with David’s Jerusalem as capital. This was resisted and they settled for Tel Aviv.
Then came Hitler and the holocaust. The World rallied round and Jews hiding inside United Nation, in 1948, created present day Israel.
Throughout history, president day location of Israel and Palestine do not belong to Arabs or Jews but cluster of indigenous tribes; al-Kaabneh, al-Azazmeh, al-Ramadin and al-Rshaida who are still alive, though in the minority and have lost most of their identity to Islam and Judaism.
With this religious coloration, Christians all over the world and Muslims too, believe that it is their divine mandate to take sides with this two powers that had grabbed the ancestral land of others.
