The Director General of the New Media of the PDP in the state, Lancelot Obiaku, has confirmed the killing of Chiedoziem Anyanwu, PDP Chairman, Ife/ Akpodim/ Chokoneze Ward, in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo state.
Anyanwu was shot dead on Thursday by gunmen operating on a motorcycle.
According to an eyewitness, on arrival at his house, his killers mentioned his name and requested to see him.
His wife called him that some persons were looking for him. On identifying he was the one, they shot him dead, waited to make sure he was dead before they fled the scene.
” The development has brought an uneasy calm with the fold of the PDP in the state. The slain party chairman was vibrant. Nobody knew why he was killed.”
