Imo LGA Election: APC Sweeps Clean 27/27

In a remarkable demonstration of electoral strength, millions of citizens across Imo State, particularly supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), have extended heartfelt congratulations to the party’s successful candidates.
On Saturday, September 21, 2024, APC secured a resounding victory, winning 305 councilorship seats and 27 chairmanship positions in the local government elections.
The Imo Local Government Polls, conducted across the state’s 305 wards and 27 local government areas, were overseen by the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC), under the leadership of Hon. Charles Ejiogu.The election process was notably smooth, with reports of widespread voter participation as citizens eagerly exercised their democratic rights.
Accredited media outlet, ThePressman Newspaper report, confirmed that ISIEC materials were distributed appropriately, facilitating a transparent and orderly voting process.
Candidates from a total of 17 political parties out of 19 registered keenly participated in the elections, underscoring the competitive nature of the electoral landscape.
However, the APC candidates emerged as the clear victors, with all their chairmanship and councilorship hopefuls successfully elected.
While ISIEC is set to officially announce the results shortly, it is anticipated that the 305 ward councilors and 27 local government chairmen will soon be formally declared winners.
This victory not only reinforces the APC’s dominance in Imo State but also highlights the party’s strong grassroots support.
