The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Abia State has voiced its strong opposition to the state government’s new policy requiring churches to pay taxes on their signposts.
In a statement issued by the association, CAN urged the government to swiftly revoke the decision, warning that the policy risks portraying the administration as antagonistic toward churches.
CAN emphasized that such measures could strain the relationship between the church and the government, urging for a more considerate approach to policies impacting religious institutions in the state.
