Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma on Saturday, officially unveiled his 2023 Gubernatorial running mate, Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru.
In his address, Governor Uzodinma expressed his confidence in his running mate,
Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, and stated that her appointment was based on merit and her track record of service to the state.
He highlighted her passion for community development and her commitment to the ideals of the All Progressive Congress (APC). Governor Hope Uzodinma in a detailed address, took Ndi Imo through a journey of how his Shared Prosperity administration has delivered dividends of democracy in the past 3 years to Ndi Imo with numerous achievements as proofs for his reelection.
Speaking on the achievements of his administration, Governor Uzodinma stated that his government prioritized infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and security.
He mentioned the completion of over 100 major road projects, the construction of new hospitals and healthcare facilities, the empowerment of more than 5,000 youths through skills acquisition programs, and the revamping of the education sector with the reconstruction and recovery of schools with numerous Federal Government approved projects like the Orashi dredging to the Atlantic.
Governor Uzodinma also emphasized the efforts made in ensuring security and peace in the state, stating that his administration has been able to curb criminal activities and restore the confidence of investors in Imo State.
He also warned Politicians sponsoring unrest in the State yet promising safety, to desist from their atrocious acts and embrace peace.
The Governor assured the people of Imo State that with their support, his administration will continue to work hard to deliver more dividends of democracy, improve the living standards of the people, and create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
Prior to the Governor’s address, Imo APC Chairman, Hon. MacDonald Ebere, PhD, commenced his speech by expressing gratitude to the party’s leaders for their presence at the meeting, which symbolized their unwavering support for the gubernatorial candidate, Dist. Sen Hope Uzodimma. He went on to commend the Governor for his remarkable efforts in transforming the state, turning it into a captivating and picturesque destination.
The Governor’s track record of success, including the recent triumph in the general elections, reflects the deep-rooted affection the people have for him and solidifies his rightful claim to a second term at Douglas House.
Continuing his address, Hon. Ebere passionately urged the assembled leaders to uphold unwavering determination, emphasizing the need for a cohesive front in advancing their shared vision. He stressed the importance of grassroots engagement, encouraging them to actively connect with constituents through effective door-to-door campaigns and mobilization efforts. With an unwavering commitment, he highlighted, they can ensure Governor Uzodimma’s resounding victory is not only achieved but celebrated by all.
Hon Ebere maintained that All Progressives Congress have all it takes to win the November Governorship election and therefore charged all party members to continue working hard. Hon. MacDonald reiterated that Governor Uzodinma made a perfect choice by bringing in a female running mate for the inclusivity of women gender in governance. This according to Hon. Ebere while speaking to news reporters after the event is not in any way removing the signature competency of His Excellency Prof. Placid Njoku who has served the state meritoriously as a deputy Governor.

In her response, the running mate of Governor Uzodinma, Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru thanked the Governor, the members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), and the entire Imo people for the opportunity to exercise her 40 years of experience in politics and service to humanity.
